This page tests a product photo against the Gumroad rules we could find, using the real pixels of your file. The figures were read on Gumroad's own page.

Rules a pixel test cannot judge, such as what may appear in the photo, are listed beside the report.

What else to know about Gumroad photos

    Gumroad Help recommends a 1280 x 720 cover and a thumbnail of at least 600 x 600.

Covers must be under 50 MB. Gumroad scales images over 4096 px on the longest side.

The minimum size tested here is our suggestion.

    Questions sellers ask

What size should a Gumroad product image be?

Aim for about 720 pixels on the shortest side. The minimum tested here is 338 pixels (our suggestion). These figures come from Gumroad's own help pages, so confirm them in your Gumroad account before a large upload.

What shape should a Gumroad photo be?

The checker tests for 16:9, based on Gumroad's own help pages. A photo in another shape fails this check, and Fix All pads it on white to reach the shape.

What is the file size limit for Gumroad images?

The checker uses 50 MB, based on Gumroad's own help pages. Fix All lowers the JPEG quality first, then the pixel size if it has to, to get under that figure.

Which image formats does Gumroad accept?

The checker passes JPEG, PNG, GIF, based on Gumroad's own help pages. Fix All exports a JPEG. If your browser cannot open a file, export it as a JPEG from your phone or editor first.

What background does Gumroad want on the main image?

In this checker the background is not fixed by a rule we could test, based on Gumroad's own help pages. Fix All does not repaint a background behind your product, so use the background remover if this check fails.

Why did my Gumroad photo fail the checker?

The report names the exact rule, such as shape, size, file limit, format or background. Fix All handles shape, size and file limit. A background failure usually needs a new photo in better light or the background remover.

If my photo passes here, will Gumroad accept it?

Not necessarily. A pass means the photo meets the rules we can test from pixels. Gumroad can apply content rules or change its requirements, so a pass is a useful check and not a promise of acceptance.

Is this Gumroad photo checker free, and is my photo uploaded?

It is free and needs no account. Your photo is read by your own browser and never sent to a server. This is an unofficial tool and is not affiliated with Gumroad.
